For the last 4 weeks we have been working on the 2014 solar boat challenge this is a Kizoa representing my group working
Whisky waters
Whistling trough the sparkling crystal water as our boat persists to finish the race.
Allowing room for mistakes a space for success.
Taking each second, minute and day as it comes because you can never predict how a race would turn out.
Energy whisking through the floating polystyrene as the journey continues
Resilience pays off at the lend of the day when smiles glide through the room with happiness.
Water reflecting of the shimmering sun as the boats run through the water.
I feel pain when our boat decides to turn on us.
Pictures flood my mind of what the future holds.
Estimating and predicting how the weather holds up for the big race.
Only our spirit and team can change the way our boat runs
Undoing and redoing things that don’t go to plan.
Time runs out but at the end of the day its kindness that always wins.
Wiping Out The Water
Week 7-Student Blogging Challenge.
Hi guys,
for the week 7, student blogging challenge the students involved have been asked to chose a suject about schooling that we would like to work on out of the following :
http://studentchallenge.edublogs.org
The subject that I chose to go with is the view out side our class room window.
As most of you know I live in Victoria, Victoria is an amazing place to be. One of my favourite parts of living in Australia is the fare voting systems, schooling for kids, Universities , jobs , landscapes and there are so many more, but one of my most favourite things about Victoria is the public schools, Especially Mine,. The kids at my school are so nice there are about 510 kids from grade Prep (which is the grade before year 1) and then up to year 6. I am currently in year 5. When I look out side my class room windows I see about 10 really big luscious oak trees, a road , and then in summer a crispy golden, spring lively green, in winter frosty and icy in Autumn leaves sweep across this Amazing country paddock. When I look around to the other side of my class I see lots of happy kids laughing and happy Smiles as kids skip across the court yard that leads onto the green oval and parks, basket ball courts and a cricket pitch.
I AM Peom
Over the last couple of weeks Mrs Kane has given us the task to write a poem based on you or something that you believe in. To start this project we had to sit down and judged our poem. I rated my self kind of in the middle but I would really like to see what you think.
After wards I sat with a partner and did a pier edit.
I am a sportsman.
I compete as a team player not an individual.
I wonder what the future holds and what door is ready and waiting to be filled.
I hear a voice in my head pushing me harder and harder until I achieve success.
I see my family supporting me in whatever decisions step, move, choice I make.
I what to have the feeling of achievement and success rush down my body.
I am all I been taught.
I pretend to be happy but cry on the inside.
I image my life as a book- and a chapter reading to be read.
I proud of who I am.
I reach my dreams don’t let them slip.
I worry when I feel I have not tried my absolute best.
I am all I been taught.
I understand I am allowed to be disappointed.
I say i can do anything.
I dream with passion and don’t let it go.
I try 100 and 10 percent in till I am satisfied.
I hope I do something that makes me happy.
I am all I have been taught.

New Wave Mental Goal.
In class the years 5’s have been working on a New Wave Mental Goal. Every term the year 5 teachers are expecting us to set our self a New Wave Mentals Goal.
You are probably sitting here going “WHAT IN THE WORLD IN NEW WAVE MENTALS”. Well New Wave Mentals are A3 sheets of paper with 4 columns .Each sheet is graded in weeks the week that I was working on is week 25 to 26.
My percentage accuracy was around 50% to 62%.
My Term four maths goal is to reach around 70% accuracy by the end of term 4 ….. Well basically at the end of the year.
To achieve this goal I will continue to ask reasonable questions and arteries the things I understand. I will also try to keep coming to Mrs Kane’s clinics.
Week 4-What Is My DigitalF Foot Print?
What is some thing that the more you take, the more you leave behind.
ANSWER: Foot Prints.
Any way sorry went a little off topic there but I guess foot prints do relate to digital foot prints. Right?
Well we are now up to week four of the student blogging challenge. We had 4 different chose to choose from, I chose to search my self through the internet and see what had come up.
I was a bit surprised when I typed in some of my user names and accounts and nothing came up, but that was good in a way that the digital foot print goes.
I then typed in some of my net ball teams that I play for and it was then when I found over 11 pictures of me.
I have really enjoyed this challenge.
It was really interesting to see what my digital foot print was like.
Thank you.
My Master Piece
Pie Graph Reflection.
On Thursday the year 5’s finished the last leg of the NGPS cyber race. Over all we did 3 legs Paris, London, and the first one was Sydney. When we all thought that the race was coming to an end the teachers couldn’t rest giving us another leg and as Mrs Kane and Ms Condon would say” the 4th leg…..With a twist”.
The teachers reward us with an exciting challenge- we got into partners witch mine was Laura, and got to create the itinerary to then swap with another pair. Laura and I diced to go to Colombo in Sri Lanka. We chose Colombo because
- Nobody else knew about Colombo.
- There were a lot of tours to be held in Sri Lanka
- And 3 was because on our itinerary one of the things that we must include said “THRILL SEEKING” and I am pretty sure we could tick that one off.
Now…..all of the fun part is done and dusted. And when we thought that the task was over we then realized that all of the data from the race somehow had to be converted into a graph, word document or an Excel spread sheet…..I was thinking the teachers wouldn’t let us off that easy.
